June 22

Posted by mgthantzin on June 29, 2006

I was home alone then. Both of them (WPK and MMH) spent their nite at WYL’s house. Ok. I left my place at 11. According to the plan, I headed towards the downtown (exactly Orchard Area). I met others at Orchard MRT. Then, we proceeded to Takashimaya where our Souel Garden is situated. Yep, WPK treated us (for his birthday). But, we didn’t give him any bd present so far. :P After we had eaten a lot, we thought what we should do next.

And, we all agreed to watch movie. So, 2 movies were quite hot then – Silent Hill and Scary Movies 4. I didn’t wanna watch Scary Movie. Although we were at Cineleisure, due to some problem, we couldn’t watch any movies there. So, we moved to Shaw Plaza and bought tickets for the movie Silent Hill. It was a good movie. I like it. Quite thrilling. The movie was finished with unexpected ending. :) cool! I put some photos we took on that day. [To enjoy photos of higher quality, please go to my photo blog. Thz.]

They are frank… They are understanding.. They are white-hearted.. They are helpful.. They are.. my friends.. They spend time being beside me.. They make me feel happy.. They rejoice me… Yep! They are my great friends… I hope our friendship will last long forever… :)

A Web Canvas

Posted by mgthantzin on June 14, 2006

Jackson Pollock (1912-1956) was an American painter and the commanding figure of the Abstract Expressionist movement. He is best known for his ‘drip and splash’ style where he poured and dripped his paint from a can onto the canvas.

Now you can make your very own ‘Jackson Pollock‘ painting with the Jackson Pollock Generator. It’s that fun. I’ll give 10 of 10 for its attractiveness.

Do You Believe This?

Posted by mgthantzin on June 10, 2006

I couldn’t even believe my ears! Whenever someone creates a gmail account, the following tasks are carried out at Google.

  1. Somewhere within the Google offices, a bright flashing light alerts workers to the new request. Quickly, a worker tears off a printout listing the new user’s details and sprints across the campus towards the engineering department.
  2. The printout is handed off to a Google engineer, who punches a precise pattern of holes into a paper card. The engineer then feeds the card into the G-Frame computer, which reads the punches and puts the new user information into the large Gmail database.
  3. The engineer then rides a Segway over to the customer service department and hands the printout to a New User Welcoming Representative, who quickly writes a friendly e-mail to the new user and sends it.
  4. The new user recieves a confirmation and can now log in! The process is complete and the user now has access to a world of helpful and useful Google services.

Copy-Paste Data Between Computers

Posted by mgthantzin on June 10, 2006

It’s really cool! I juz found it. ok! what exactly can we copy and paste? juz browse http://cl1p.net/xxxxx where xxxxx is a block of text of your choice.. probably your name… that url will bring you to a page where there is one main text box, a place to upload a file (only one not more than 2MB in size) and you can also set the password to view that page… it’s quite useful to save and share (either publically or privately) a large text file online… what an idea!

First Internet Search Engine

Posted by mgthantzin on June 8, 2006

Computer History Snapshot:

The first Internet search engines are developed in 1990. University of McGill student Alan Emtage develops the first search engine for the Internet in 1990. The search engine is called Archie and is designed to search and archive documents available on the Internet. A year later, Paul Lindner and Mark McCahill develop another search application called Gopher at the University of Minnesota.

21st Lion City Championship (U16)

Posted by mgthantzin on June 6, 2006

Today, we went to Jalan Besar to watch the match between MM and SG (B). The match started from 7 but we’ve already been seated at 5:40. So, we watched SG vs. Malaysia which was being held. Both teams were quite strong. The match finished at 7. Juz after that, the match we’re waiting for began. Oh my!!!! What a great MM team!!! :) Darn cool!

Yeah, I ain’t exaggerating. They are so young and fresh. They are well-trained. They are well-supported. The tricks. The Scale (of each player). The Spirit or esprit de corps. :) The moments were breath-taking. But, unfortunately, no goal was won. Yep. Tomorrow, they will play with ‘SG (A)’. And, on 8th, with Malaysia. 10th will decide who is the champion. I put a photo of our glorious MM team. The photo was a blur. It’s simply my fault. I took it with WYL’s hp – 2 Megapixel. What a miserable photo I took. :P I dunno.
